I was interested to examine biodiversity of animal and plant species in the terrestrial, coastal and marine ecosystems within Asir national park. It is evident that most of the country’s regions are barely arid. Some parts in the park had sparse vegetation comprising of thorny herbs and shrubs. However, vegetation in high altitude areas was gree n, luxuriant and thick. For this reason, I realized that variation and distribution of species in all the ecosystems were influenced by altitude. Most importantly, I analyzed that destruction of rangeland highly influenced distribution of terrestrial species of animals like antelopes, hyenas, jackals and wild cats. The latter also contributed to suppressed growth of plants such as herbs and shrubs. On further analyses; I inferred that the present state of rangelands was no longer in position to support even the domestic fauna and flora in the immediate surrounding. Consequently, I majored on issues of pollution and development activities carried out within the park. Rumors had it that irrespective of the benefits derived from Asir Park, pollution was rampant. For instance, sources of air pollution within the park included illegal burning of charcoal which led to emission of toxic gases. At some point, I could smell gaseous emissions from charcoal burning. Furthermore, I remembered of incidences when Mount Jebel would emit certain gases that were highly toxic leading to death of certain species of animals in the park. In addition to this, water pollution was also evident. However, only the waters that ran through the coastal areas were at risk of being contaminated by effluence from certain manufacturing firms. For instance, several cases of oil spills along the coastal regions stretching into the park resulted into destruction of both aquatic and marine life. Having conducted a qualitative research within the neighborhood of the park, I found out that several species of flora and fauna ha d been threatened by water pollution. Nevertheless, the government had spent million of shillings to improve and expand sewerage systems. Moreover, several measures were being taken to limit pollution within the pack such as warning visitors against dumping litters all over the pack. I also noted some differences in the current state of the park compared to previous visits. It was evident that pollution had significantly subsided with time. Maybe you work in an environment that feels well ahead of the curve. If so, that’s awesome. But perhaps you don’t, and you are striving to understand how you can have the kind of career you want despite the minefield of obstacles that seem to stand in your path. Either way, let’s face it. Women can- and often are- treated differently in the workplace.Have you ever been called â€Å"honey† or â€Å"doll† by a client or a superior? Have you ever been the only person asked to fetch coffee in a meeting of mostly m en? Have you been passed over for promotions in favor of male colleagues who haven’t been working there as long as you have and, at least as far as you can tell, haven’t matched your performance or achievements? These are but a few of the many ways in which women are still being left behind professionally.According to the latest accounting by Catalyst, women currently hold only 5.8% of CEO positions at SP 500 companies. That’s a pretty measly slice of the pie. How, you might be wondering, can those odds be changed? There’s a lot of chatter (online and in bestselling books and inspirational speeches) about what women need to do to get to the top. â€Å"Leaning in† is just one strategy. Dressing or acting less feminine is another popular one- that means upping your aggression, going in for the kill, learning to be a mercenary in a cutthroat business world. But if these strategies feel a little severe to you, or abrasive, or you just can’t imag ine these tactics working for you, there are other ways.Embrace Your Natural Leadership AbilitiesKeep in mind, women have a wealth of natural leadership skills- and have for generations. Think about the hardworking, iron-willed and purposeful women in your family. Think about how your family has been held together and shepherded through tough times over the years. Chances are a woman is responsible for some or most of that. Think for a second about the unsung skills of your foremothers. Just because they aren’t recognized as they should be doesn’t mean their skills aren’t praiseworthy- and aren’t just the kind of leadership qualities you might innately possess.Things like emotional intelligence, instinct, crisis management, multitasking, troubleshooting, and opportunity managing. Stay quiet and listen when you feel that’s most appropriate- you’ll never know what you might learn or how your patience might be rewarded when you finally do interject and lobby for your ideas.Cultivate ConfidenceThis may be a tough one, but it’s necessary. Ever met a male CEO or industry leader without it? Start by faking it; eventually you’ll make it. And remember, you won’t get where you want to go by trying to please everyone you come across. If you’ve done your homework and you know your industry and your job inside and out, then speak up; join the fray. Trust yourself. You know what you’re talking about. Speak up and share it. Don’t be afraid to show the world that you are well aware of your own merits and qualifications and that you feel quite strongly when you’ve got the right idea. Be an Actor, Not a ReactorKeep an eye out for opportunities to make a real impact and create a reputation for being a real contributor to projects and causes that matter. But also try to balance that a bit. Work-life balance is important. You can’t rise to the top if you’re too stressed and exhausted to support yourself on the way up. Your contributions will be most valuable when they’re backed up by good stores of sleep and health and verve.Work to Build a Matriarchy from WithinHelp other women. Being outspoken, even if that means learning to get comfortable not being universally liked.Remember, you are your best (and sometimes only) advocate. Only you can be truly confident in your capabilities. It’s up to you to convince everyone e lse. Toot your own horn and the horns of the women you work with. No one will do it for you. Strike that power pose and unleash your creative forces. Pitch your ideas. Be audacious. Soon, you’ll be respected, even if not universally everyone’s best pal or favorite colleague. If this is a report produced by a student it should have a title page with the following information:- the title of the course taken, the author and title, names of any associates who assisted with the experiment, the name and address of the college department involved, the person to whom the report is being submitted such as a professor and the date of that submission. 6.This is followed by either an abstract , or the executive summary, usually of about 200 words, on occasion longer. These are written after the completion of the experiment and the rest of the report. Wilson’s League of Nations and Its Legacy As much of the world lay in shambles as the closing to the War to End All Wars approached, President Woodrow Wilson contemplated the global state of affairs. In his Fourteen Points, Wilson expresses his desire for â€Å"a just and stable peace† and outlines ways in which to accomplish it. One of his points—the fourteenth—suggests the creation of a group of nations with a common purpose. As his idea took root, it grew into the League of Nations. Despite good intentions, the League of Nations proved too weak to be effective at the outbreak of World War II. Even though the League itself failed, the legacy of its framework and missions live on in the current international system, most obviously in the United Nations. The Subjectivity Of Values By Mackie - 1398 Words

In Mackie’s paper, â€Å"The Subjectivity of Values†, he aims to show us readers how â€Å"there are no objective values† (Mackie 777). He starts off by giving different arguments for this thesis. However, his metaphysical argument on queerness fails because the world is changing all around us and new things are discovered everyday. Leading on, I will give you a summary of J.L. Mackie’s â€Å"Subjectivity of Values† and explain to you Mackie’s metaphysical argument from queerness. Next, I will argue that Mackie’s metaphysical argument from queerness fails. Lastly, I will consider the objections to my argument and give my responses to them. Mackie starts his very first sentence by saying â€Å"there are no objective values† (Mackie 777). He believes that values like graciousness, gratitude, and accountability don’t exist. In making this point, he uses other philosophers’ agreement on moral objectivism to show how he thinks that all of these well-known people are wrong in their thinking. Some of these philosophers he talks about are Kant, Aristotle, and Plato. Take Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics for example. In this he talks about how knowledge and happiness are desires. However, Mackie seems to think differently. He thinks that Aristotle shouldn’t be thinking these things because it is very â€Å"plain† of him (Mackie 781). Mackie feels that is bad to think such things because we can’t have desires. If we had desires, then we would have to have â€Å"objective moral values† (Mackie 777).
